Crypto Asset Transaction Value Reaches Rp49.82 Trillion in May 2024

The Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) reported that the value of Indonesian crypto asset transactions reached Rp49.82 trillion in May 2024.

This figure is down 4.66% month-to-month (mtm) from April 2024, which amounted to Rp52.26 trillion.

However, year-on-year (yoy), it soared by 506.83% from May 2023, which was only Rp8.21 trillion.

Since the beginning of 2024, the value of Indonesian crypto asset transactions has increased by 130.96% year-to-date (ytd) from January 2024, which amounted to Rp21.57 trillion.

Meanwhile, the highest monthly crypto asset transaction this year occurred in March, reaching Rp103.58 trillion.

Over the past four years, the lowest value of crypto assets occurred in 2023. The details are: Rp859.4 trillion in 2021; Rp306.4 trillion in 2022; Rp149.3 trillion in 2023; and Rp260.9 trillion from January to May 2024.

The average monthly transaction value in 2023 reached Rp12.44 trillion.

Currently, there are 893,541 active crypto customers conducting transactions in May 2024. The addition of customers in May 2024 reached 363,101.

Registered customers up to May 2024 reached 19.75 million.
