Banten's Marine Fisheries Production Reached 6.2 Million Kg in 2020

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the production of marine fisheries sold at Fish Auction Places (TPI) in Banten Province reached 6.2 million kilograms in 2020. This amount has a production value of Rp 95.5 billion.

The highest fish production was in Serang City, amounting to 2.6 million kilograms or 42.02% of the total fish production in Banten. The next largest production was in Lebak Regency at 1.76 million kilograms (28.49%).

Meanwhile, Serang Regency had the lowest fish production, at only 268,900 kilograms (4.34%). This was followed by production in Pandeglang Regency at 688,000 kilograms.

Based on the sales level per TPI by regency/city, the highest average sales occurred in Serang City at 686,300 kilograms per quarter per TPI. This was followed by Tangerang Regency and Lebak Regency with average sales of 72,500 kilograms and 44,100 kilograms of fish per quarter per TPI, respectively.

The types of fish most sold at TPIs in 2020 included anchovies (teri) with a production of 701,200 kilograms or 11.32% of the total. Skipjack tuna (cakalang) amounted to 671,000 kilograms (10.83%), petek or peperek (small fish species) amounted to 598,300 kilograms (9.66%), and tongkol (skipjack tuna, another species) amounted to 440,040 kilograms (7.1%).
