According to a survey by the Center for Economics and Law Studies (CELIOS) and Pluang, the majority of investors in Java and Bali understand how to verify the legality of investment platforms.

Most, or 40.5% of survey respondents, check the legality of investment platforms by searching for the platform's licensing status on the regulator's website, such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) websites.

Then, 22.1% of respondents validated the platform by checking the platform's or company's name on Cekfintech.id, a website belonging to the Indonesian Fintech Association (Aftech).

Another 20.4% of respondents checked validity by reviewing news articles, and 17% searched for information about the investment platform through search engines.

"The majority of investors understand how to verify the legality of an investment platform," CELIOS and Pluang stated in their report released on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

"(The survey results) show that investors are quite responsive to developments in the digital investment sector and are willing to seek information to ensure their choices are correct," they continued.

This survey was conducted from June 20-28, 2022, with 3,530 randomly selected respondents. The majority of respondents were from Java and Bali, aged 24-35, and primarily employed as private sector employees.
