The number of online loan (pinjol) users continues to increase. According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), in June 2023, the total outstanding online loan value nationally reached Rp52.7 trillion, growing approximately 19% compared to June of the previous year.

The online loan NPL cases in June 2023 mostly involved borrowers aged 19-34 years, with accumulated loan defaults totaling Rp763.65 billion. This was followed by borrowers aged 35-54 years, with NPLs totaling Rp541.26 billion.
