The Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) recorded total bank deposits reaching Rp 7,224 trillion in September 2021. This figure increased by 7.5% year-on-year (YoY) and 1.4% month-on-month (MoM).
Deposits exceeding Rp 5 billion totaled Rp 3,664 trillion in September. This amount showed the highest year-on-year increase among all deposit tiers, at 10.7%. Deposits above Rp 5 billion contributed 50.7% to the total bank deposits.
Deposits in the Rp 2 billion to Rp 5 billion tier grew by 4.5% (YoY) to Rp 606 trillion in September 2021, contributing 8.4% to the total bank deposits. Deposits in the Rp 1 billion to Rp 2 billion tier grew by 4% (YoY) to Rp 470 trillion, representing 6.5% of total bank deposits.
Deposits in the Rp 500 million to Rp 1 billion tier increased by 4.1% to Rp 534 trillion in September 2021, equivalent to 7.4% of total bank deposits. Deposits in the Rp 200 million to Rp 500 million tier increased by 5.3% (YoY) to Rp 619 trillion, contributing 8.6% to the total bank deposits.
Furthermore, deposits in the Rp 100 million to Rp 200 million tier grew by 5.9% (YoY) to Rp 388 trillion, representing 5.4% of total bank deposits.
Meanwhile, deposits below Rp 100 million increased by 3.2% (YoY) to Rp 942 trillion, accounting for 13% of total bank deposits.
