New Credit Disbursement Shows Positive Growth in October 2021

New credit disbursement showed positive growth in October 2021. Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded a Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of new credit demand at 12.7% in October 2021.

However, the WNB of new credit demand in October 2021 was lower than the previous month. In September 2021, the WNB of new credit demand was recorded at 48.9%.

Growth in new credit disbursement in October 2021 occurred across all bank categories, although it slowed compared to the previous month. In the general bank (BU) category, new credit disbursement grew by 4.2% in October 2021, lower than the previous month's 44.5%.

New credit disbursement in the Islamic commercial bank (BUS) category grew by 95.2% in October 2021, lower than September 2021's 98.2%. Meanwhile, in the regional development bank (BPD) category, new credit disbursement grew by 75.7%, lower than the previous month's 86.7%.

Based on the type of use, consumer credit (KPR) disbursement grew by 54.4% in October 2021, higher than the previous month's 50.7%. Meanwhile, investment credit (KI) disbursement slowed. Investment credit, which stood at 41.7% in September 2021, fell to 5.7% in October 2021.

New credit disbursement for working capital credit (KMK) also slowed from 62.1% to 38.6% in October 2021. In addition, other consumer credit also slowed from 32.5% to 24.8% in October 2021.

Based on the business sector category, new credit disbursement in October 2021 was prioritized for the wholesale and retail trade sector, followed by the manufacturing and construction industries. The main factors influencing new credit disbursement in October 2021 were the prospects for future monetary and economic conditions, and the demand for financing from customers.
