A survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with Zigi.id reveals that digital wallets are the most widely used financial products among Indonesians. 67.8% of respondents reported using digital wallets such as GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, Dana, and others.

Digital wallets surpassed bank ATMs, which ranked second. 51.1% of respondents reported using bank ATMs, followed by conventional bank accounts in third place (used by 38.1% of respondents).

Next is mobile banking, used by 32.7% of respondents. Digital bank accounts ranked fifth, used by 24.3% of respondents.

When broken down by generation, the use of bank ATMs is higher among Generation Y (Millennials) compared to Generation Z. Bank ATMs were used by 57.1% of Generation Y respondents, while only 35.4% of Generation Z respondents used them.

The KIC and Zigi survey involved 5,204 respondents aged 15 and above with internet access across Indonesia. The survey was conducted from September 6-12, 2021, using an online survey method.
