Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is now the bank with the largest assets in Indonesia. In its 2017 financial report, the government-owned bank reported a Rp 122.6 trillion increase in assets, reaching a total of Rp 1,126.25 trillion.
This achievement surpasses Bank Mandiri, which previously consistently held the top spot for largest assets in the country. In 2017, Bank Mandiri (BMRI) saw its assets increase by only Rp 86 trillion, reaching Rp 1,124.7 trillion, placing it second. Bank Central Asia (BCA) holds the third largest asset value, reaching Rp 750.3 trillion.

The combined assets of the three largest banks total Rp 4,843.6 trillion, approximately 65% of the total national banking assets valued at Rp 7,387.15 trillion. Last year, banks disbursed Rp 4,737.97 trillion in credit, an 8.24% increase from the previous year.
