According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), in March 2023, 22.97% of Indonesian households received credit or loan services in the past year.
Broken down by province, the highest proportion of households receiving credit was in Gorontalo.
In March 2023, 38.02% of households in Gorontalo had taken out credit in the past year, the highest percentage nationally.
The majority of credit recipients in Gorontalo used KUR (46.7%) and non-KUR general bank credit (23.04%).
Meanwhile, the lowest proportion of households receiving credit was recorded in Papua, at only 6.56%.
Similar to most other provinces, the most common types of credit taken by households in Papua were KUR (42.78%) and non-KUR general bank credit (34.18%).

The BPS obtained this data from the March 2023 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas), with a sample of 345,000 households spread across 514 districts/cities in 34 Indonesian provinces.
Respondents were spread across rural and urban areas. Data collection was conducted through direct interviews between officers and respondents.
