According to a Populix survey, 94% of Indonesian respondents had used QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) for transactions in April 2024.

However, respondents experienced several challenges. A majority (51%) stated that not all merchants accepted QRIS payments.

"QRIS adoption could be further expanded if more merchants offered this payment option," wrote the Populix team in their report, *Understanding QRIS Usage and Its Impact on Daily Transaction*.

Furthermore, 50% of respondents experienced slow network connections disrupting transactions, 35% encountered technical issues with payment applications, and 22% faced insufficient funds.

Additionally, 21% felt they spent more when using QRIS, 11% couldn't make installment payments, 10% experienced no difficulties, and 5% didn't understand how to use it.

Populix conducted this online survey from April 26-29, 2024, involving 1,092 respondents across Indonesia.

The majority of respondents were from Java (81%), followed by Sumatra (12%), and other islands (7%). Respondents were predominantly aged 17-25 (40%) and 26-30 (22%).
