USMEs received Rp 1.1027 trillion in credit in July 2021.

Bank Indonesia (BI) data shows that general bank credit for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amounted to Rp 1,102.66 trillion in July 2021. This figure represents a 0.45% decrease compared to the previous month's Rp 1,107.59 trillion (month-to-month/m-to-m).

Compared to July 2020, MSME credit still recorded an increase of 1.86% (year-on-year/yoy). Similarly, compared to December 2020, MSME credit also grew by 1.05% (year-to-date/ytd).

Based on its allocation, credit for micro businesses was recorded at Rp 217.25 trillion in July 2021, down 1.69% compared to the previous month (m-to-m). This decrease marks the 16th consecutive month since April 2020.

Credit for micro businesses also fell by 21.59% compared to July 2020. Similarly, compared to December 2020 (ytd), the decrease in credit for micro businesses reached 12.11%.

Conversely, credit for small businesses was recorded at Rp 397.07 trillion in July 2021, growing by 1.7% compared to the previous month. This figure also increased by 16.89% compared to July 2020 (yoy).

Furthermore, credit for medium-sized businesses amounted to Rp 484.34 trillion in July 2021. This figure decreased by 1.96% from the previous month (m-to-m), but increased by 4.84% compared to July 2020 (yoy).

Due to the decrease in value, the proportion of credit for micro businesses from the total credit to all MSMEs decreased from 27.26% in March 2020 to 19.7% in July 2021. Meanwhile, the proportion of credit for small businesses increased to 36.01%. Similarly, the proportion of credit for medium-sized businesses increased to 44.29%.
