Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that there are indications of strengthening consumer confidence in Indonesia's economic conditions.
This is reflected in the results of BI's Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) survey, which stood at 127 points in January 2026.
This figure is in the optimistic zone, as it exceeds 100 points. Conversely, the condition is considered pessimistic if the index score is less than 100 points.
The January 2026 score is higher than the December 2025 figure of 123.5 points.
"The increase in consumer confidence stems from consumers' optimism about current and future economic conditions, which have improved compared to previous periods," BI said in a written statement.
All components of the CCI index also showed a consistent increase. Notably, the Current Economic Conditions Index (CECI) rose to 115.1 points in January 2026, up from 111.4 points in December 2025.
The Consumer Expectations Index (CEI) registered 138.8 points in January 2026, up from 135.6 points in December 2025.
"Regionally, the CCI improved in most cities surveyed, particularly in Semarang, Palembang, and Padang," said BI.
