Top 10 Globally Highest-Valued Bank Brands in 2025: All from China and the US

According to Brand Finance's Banking 500 2025, Chinese and United States (US) banks dominate the list of the top 10 banks with the highest global brand valuations.

Brand Finance calculates these brand valuations based on consumer perception surveys regarding bank reputation, as well as the companies' financial performance data.

The result shows that, out of the top 10 banks with the highest brand valuations, 5 are from China, and the other 5 are from the US.

Below is the list of the top 10 banks with the highest global brand valuations in 2025, according to Brand Finance:

1. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), China: US$79.07 billion

2. China Construction Bank, China: US$78.39 billion

3. Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), China: US$70.2 billion

4. Bank of China, China: US$63.84 billion

5. Bank of America, US: US$45.04 billion

6. Chase, US: US$44.18 billion

7. Wells Fargo, US: US$36.03 billion

8. Citi, US: US$35.65 billion

9. J.P. Morgan, US: US$32.4 billion

10. China Merchants Bank, China: US$28.28 billion

"Four giant Chinese banks solidified their leading positions, with ICBC remaining the top brand for 9 consecutive years," wrote Brand Finance in its report.

According to Brand Finance, ICBC's brand valuation in 2025 increased by 10% compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, Bank of America maintained its position as the bank with the highest brand valuation in the US for 5 consecutive years, with a 21% valuation growth in 2025.

Then, Chase overtook Wells Fargo this year, the only change in the global top 10 positions.

"Chase recorded a surge in brand valuation of 23%, while Wells Fargo only grew by 1%," said Brand Finance.
