According to a report by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the value of fintech lending or online loans (pinjol) disbursed domestically reached Rp27.86 trillion in January 2025.

This figure is down 0.5% month-to-month (mtm) from December 2024, which stood at Rp28 trillion.

During this period, online loans were disbursed to 14.69 million borrower accounts, a slight increase of 0.01% mtm.

The majority of borrowers, 10.85 million accounts or 74% of the national total for this period, were located on the island of Java.

Of the total loans disbursed at the beginning of the year, Rp7.40 trillion or 26.55% went to the productive sector.

The largest recipient within the productive sector was the wholesale and retail trade sector, receiving Rp3.95 trillion.

Furthermore, Rp1.06 trillion went to the accommodation and food and beverage sector; Rp383.99 billion to the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector; and Rp157.74 billion to the real estate sector.
