First Quarter 2025 Social Assistance Reaches Rp18 Trillion, Majority for Basic Food Needs

The Ministry of Social Affairs reports that the realization of social assistance (bansos) disbursement in the first quarter of 2025 has reached Rp18.64 trillion.

This is equivalent to 24.95% of this year's budget allocation of Rp74.76 trillion.

The Q1 2025 bansos budget has been disbursed to approximately 20.8 million beneficiary families (KPM).

The largest amount of bansos spending was allocated for basic necessities (sembako), totaling Rp10.97 trillion, distributed to 18.27 million KPM.

This was followed by Rp7.3 trillion for the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance, disbursed to 10 million KPM.

Then, there was Rp369.99 billion for social pillar assistance in the form of salaries or gratuities. This assistance was disbursed to 33,330 PKH companions; 24,390 disaster preparedness cadets; 6,060 sub-district social welfare officers; 1,940 social rehabilitation companions; 51,900 community social workers; and 461 peace pioneers.

Bansos spending was also used for food assistance worth Rp367.2 billion to 136,000 KPM; for orphans (YAPI) Rp176.7 billion to 294,000 KPM; and for recipients of contribution assistance (PBI) Rp12.2 billion disbursed to 96.8 million people.
