West Java, Province with the Highest Peer-to-Peer Lending Debt at the End of 2024

According to a report by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), there were 22.32 million online loan recipients (pinjol) in Indonesia as of December 2024.

These borrowers had a total outstanding loan of Rp77.02 trillion.

West Java had the highest outstanding online loan in December 2024, amounting to Rp19.56 trillion, or approximately 25% of the national total.

Meanwhile, Papua Pegunungan had the lowest outstanding online loan, at only Rp3.18 billion. This was followed by South Papua with Rp8.89 billion and West Papua Daya with Rp14.17 billion.

Below is a list of the 10 provinces with the highest outstanding online loans in Indonesia as of December 2024:

1. West Java: Rp19.56 trillion
2. Jakarta: Rp12.54 trillion
3. East Java: Rp9.57 trillion
4. Central Java: Rp6.43 trillion
5. North Sumatra: Rp2.66 trillion
6. South Sulawesi: Rp1.78 trillion
7. South Sumatra: Rp1.54 trillion
8. Bali: Rp1.5 trillion
9. Lampung: Rp1.43 trillion
10. Riau: Rp1.35 trillion

The OJK also reported that national online loan users had a 90-day repayment rate (TKB90) of 97.40%.

This means that approximately 97 out of 100 online loan users successfully repaid their debt within 90 days of the due date.

The proportion of non-performing loans or defaults (TWP90) was only 2.60%. This means that about 3 out of 100 online loan users failed to repay their debt within 90 days of the due date.
