Pandas Data compiled the average annual air temperatures of 10 Southeast Asian countries.

Brunei Darussalam had the highest average annual air temperature at 26.9 degrees Celsius (°C), ranking 23rd globally with the highest average temperature.

Cambodia followed with an average annual temperature of 26.8°C, followed by Singapore at 26.5°C.

Thailand ranked fourth with an average temperature of 26.3°C, followed by Indonesia and the Philippines, both with an average temperature of 25.9°C.

This was followed by Malaysia (25°C), Vietnam (24.5°C), and Laos (22.8°C). Myanmar had the lowest average annual temperature in this list, at 13.1°C.

Data from the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) shows that the global surface temperature in May 2024 reached 2.12°F (1.18°C) above the 20th-century average of 58.6°F (14.8°C). The research team called this the hottest May ever recorded and the 12th consecutive month with the highest global temperature.

May temperatures were above average across most of the global land surface except for western North America, Greenland, southern South America, western Russia, and parts of eastern Antarctica.

Sea surface temperatures were also above average in most areas and recorded record warmth in the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Parts of the southern Indian Ocean, southeastern Pacific, and southern India were below average.
