A 4.7 magnitude (M) earthquake struck Calang. The earthquake's epicenter was inland. "The earthquake's epicenter was 15 km northwest of Calang and this earthquake is felt; further information will be disseminated to the public," wrote BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency) on its official website, April 26, 2023.

The earthquake occurred at 02:56:27. It had a depth of 61 kilometers and posed no tsunami threat. The earthquake's coordinates were 4.77° N (North Latitude) and 95.56° E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt on the MMI scale in the Greater Aceh region with an intensity of II and II. An MMI scale of II means the earthquake was not felt or was felt only by a few people, but was recorded by instruments.
