Early 2024 Ipsos Global polling indicates several actions are considered to significantly contribute to climate change worldwide.
Ipsos asked respondents to choose three actions they deemed most impactful. Using ozone-depleting products was selected most frequently, by 23% of respondents.
Second, air pollution from transportation (cars, trucks, planes, etc.) was cited by 21%.
Deforestation or land-use change was chosen by 16% of respondents. Third, the impact of industry, electricity, and heat production was selected by 15%.
Plastic production and plastic waste were cited by 10%, and natural events such as volcanic ash and variations in the sun-earth orbit were selected by 5%.
This survey, featured in the *Earth Day 2024* report, involved 24,290 adult respondents aged 18-75, interviewed online between January 26 and February 9, 2024. The sample was spread across 33 countries.
