According to an Ipsos survey, many people around the world are worried about the impact of climate change in their countries. More than half, or 68%, of respondents expressed concern about this issue.

Looking at individual countries, people in South Africa showed the highest level of concern about the impact of climate change in their country, reaching 83%.

Chile ranked second, with 80% of respondents stating concern about the impact of climate change. This was followed by Italy and Colombia, both with 79%.

In relation to this, the Ipsos survey also showed that people around the world believe that shared responsibility among governments, companies, and individuals can address the problem of climate change.

Several business sectors are seen as having a greater responsibility to reduce their contribution to climate change, particularly the energy sector, car manufacturers, airlines, and public transport providers.

Global citizens also recognize that the responsibility for reducing carbon emissions rests on individuals. Approximately 74% of those surveyed agreed that individuals are also responsible for reducing their contribution to climate change by reducing carbon emissions.

This survey was conducted from February 18 to March 4, 2022, involving 23,577 respondents aged 16–74 years from 31 countries.
