Number of Houses Damaged by Floods and Landslides in Sumatra (December 17, 2025)

Data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) shows that as of Wednesday (17/12/2025) at 4:00 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB), the flood and landslide disasters on Sumatra Island have resulted in 147,236 damaged houses.

Specifically, 44,051 units were severely damaged, 29,809 units were moderately damaged, and 73,376 units were lightly damaged.

Below are the details of the number of houses based on the level of damage in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra Provinces as of December 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM WIB:

Aceh:

* Severely damaged: 36,330 units

* Moderately damaged: 22,951 units

* Lightly damaged: 46,779 units

* Total damaged houses: 106,060 units

North Sumatra:

* Severely damaged: 5,162 units

* Moderately damaged: 3,899 units

* Lightly damaged: 19,664 units

* Total damaged houses: 28,725 units

West Sumatra:

* Severely damaged: 2,559 units

* Moderately damaged: 2,959 units

* Lightly damaged: 6,933 units

* Total damaged houses: 12,451 units

Overall, damage also occurred to 1,600 public facilities, 967 educational facilities, 434 places of worship, 145 bridges, 290 office buildings, and 219 health facilities.

Additionally, the disaster that struck the three provinces in Sumatra has claimed 1,059 lives, 192 people are still reported missing, and 7,000 people were injured.
