"One-third of all documented fatal attacks globally in 2024 occurred here," Global Witness said.

Indonesia also made it onto this list with a total of 5 murder cases, ranking in the top seven. This is a concerning finding because in 2023, Indonesia was not among the top 10.

The victims in 2024 were Beni (November 24, 2024), Arbaini (July 24, 2024), Bungaran Samosir (October 22, 2024), Adam Djorghi (October 22, 2024), and Russel (November 15, 2024).
