Deforestation during this period was the lowest in the last 20 years. The largest deforestation occurred in Kalimantan (41,500 ha), followed by Bali and Nusa Tenggara (21,300 ha), Sumatra (17,900 ha), Sulawesi (15,300 ha), the Maluku Islands (19,900 ha), and Papua (8,500 ha).
