Pertamina's Non-subsidized LPG Prices Drop at the End of June 2023: Here's the Selling Price at the Agent Level

Pertamina confirms a price reduction for non-public service obligation (non-PSO) or non-subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as of June 26, 2023.

The reduction was decided after the state-owned enterprise (SOE) evaluated market prices, mainly due to the trend of the Aramco Contract Price (CP Aramco).

"In the recent period, the price trend of CP Aramco has decreased, so Pertamina has made adjustments in the form of a price reduction for non-subsidized 5.5 kg and 12 kg LPG. For non-subsidized products, the principle is to adjust to market prices," said Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, through Pertamina's official website on Tuesday (4/7/2023).

Fadjar explained that for the 5.5 kg Bright Gas product, the refill price has decreased by Rp4,000 per cylinder.

Meanwhile, the refill price for the 12 kg Bright Gas product has also decreased by Rp9,000 per cylinder, to Rp204,000 per cylinder from the previous Rp213,000.

Fadjar emphasized that the price of subsidized LPG remains unchanged. The determination of the benchmark price for 3 kg LPG or subsidized LPG is the authority of the government, namely the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

This is in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of ESDM Number 253.K/12/MEM/2020 concerning the Benchmark Price of 3 Kilogram LPG Cylinders.

"Therefore, as the designated business entity to distribute 3 kg subsidized LPG, Pertamina is ready to implement the government's directives and policies," said Fadjar.

So, what are the selling prices of 5.5 kg and 12 kg LPG at the agent level?

Pertamina has released the latest sales price data for these two units. The attached selling price is the price of non-subsidized household LPG at the agent level outside a 60 km radius from the filling plant location. This price is in addition to transportation costs or shipping costs.
