PT Pertamina (Persero) has adjusted the price of fuel, specifically Pertamax Series, Dex Series, and non-subsidized Biosolar, nationwide, effective Wednesday, October 10, 2018. The prices of Premium, Pertalite, and subsidized Biosolar remain unchanged. Areas affected by natural disasters, such as Nusa Tenggara Barat and Central Sulawesi, are also exempt from this price increase for the time being.
Pertamina's release shows that non-subsidized Biosolar experienced the largest price increase, rising by Rp 2,100 to Rp 9,800/liter. This was followed by Pertamax Turbo, which increased by Rp 1,550 to Rp 12,250/liter, and Dexlite, which increased by Rp 1,500/liter to Rp 10,500/liter.
This fuel price adjustment is a consequence of the rising global price of Brent crude oil, which has exceeded US$80/barrel. The price of Brent crude even reached US$86/barrel this month. Meanwhile, the average Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) in September 2018 was US$74.88/barrel, a US$5.52/barrel increase.
