According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Indonesia's consumption of RON 92 gasoline reached 5.77 million kiloliters throughout 2022.
This consumption only increased by approximately 60,000 kiloliters, or 1.05%, compared to 2021.
In Indonesia, RON 92 gasoline is sold under various brands such as Pertamax (Pertamina), Shell Super (Shell), BP 92 (BP-AKR), and Revvo 92 (Vivo).
Of these four brands, BP 92 was the most expensive, priced at Rp12,630 per liter in June 2023. Meanwhile, the price of Shell Super in Jakarta was Rp12,630, Pertamax Rp12,400, and Revvo 92 (Vivo) Rp12,400.
Unlike Pertamax-class gasoline, consumption of Pertalite-class gasoline (RON 90) increased by 27% in 2022, reaching 29.68 million kiloliters.
RON 90 gasoline is sold under the brands Pertalite (Pertamina), BP 90 (BP-AKR), and Revvo 90 (Vivo). Pertalite is the cheapest RON 90 gasoline because it is subsidized by the government.
In June 2023, the price of Pertalite was set at Rp10,000 per liter. Revvo 90 was priced at Rp11,200 per liter, while BP 90 was the most expensive at Rp12,550 per liter.
