9. Nigeria: 6.6 million tons
10. Mexico: 6.1 million tons

These ten countries account for approximately 57% of total global anthropogenic methane emissions. However, the IEA estimates that many emissions remain unaccounted for.

"Methane emissions from abandoned oil and gas wells and coal mines are not included here. Data is unavailable in most countries," said the IEA.
