The global increase in crude oil prices, exceeding US$70/barrel, has prompted Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) operators to adjust fuel prices. Following Pertamina's July 1, 2018 fuel price increase, Shell Indonesia implemented a similar policy starting July 3.
According to the graph below, Premium fuel has the lowest price. This Pertamina-produced fuel, with an octane rating of 88, is priced at Rp 6,550/liter. The second cheapest is Revvo 89 (Vivo) at Rp 7,650/liter. In the 90-octane category, Pertalite (Pertamina) is the cheapest at Rp 7,800/liter, while the most expensive is Regular (Shell) at Rp 9,300/liter.
In the 92-octane class, Akra (AKR) is the cheapest at Rp 9,200/liter, while the most expensive is Super (Shell) at Rp 9,950/liter. For the 95-octane category, Pertamina's Pertamax Turbo is sold at Rp 10,700/liter, while Shell's V-Power is priced at Rp 11,250/liter.
