These are the top 10 export destinations for Indonesia in the Middle East and Africa.

Customs citing the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the United Arab Emirates is the main destination for Indonesian exports in the Africa and Middle East regions. Exports to the UAE reached US$1.7 billion from January to November 2021.

Egypt is Indonesia's second-largest export destination in the region, with exports reaching US$1.44 billion. Saudi Arabia follows in third place with exports of US$1.4 billion.

Indonesia also exported to South Africa, valued at US$846.8 million. The next largest Indonesian exports in the Africa and Middle East regions were to Kenya and Nigeria, at US$494.5 million and US$421.5 million respectively.

Tanzania is seventh as an importer of Indonesian goods, with a value of US$339.4 million. Other Indonesian exports in the Africa and Middle East region include Jordan (US$283.7 million), Djibouti (US$275 million), and Togo (US$232.4 million).

For information, Indonesia continues to strive for market expansion in the Middle East and Africa. Previously, Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi officially opened a new office named the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The relocation of the ITPC Dubai office to a more strategic location is one of the Ministry of Trade's strategies to optimize the promotion of Indonesian products to the UAE and the Middle East region. This also aims to increase Indonesian exports to the UAE and the Middle East, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
