2023 Data: Unemployment in Bengkulu Tengah Regency is 3.2%

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bengkulu Tengah Regency in December 2023 increased by 0.72% to 3.2% compared to December 2022. Over the past six years, the open unemployment rate (TPT) has shown a downward trend, continuing the previous year's declining trend.

Since 2018, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bengkulu Tengah Regency has shown a decreasing trend in terms of numbers. Four years after the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from 2020, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bengkulu Tengah Regency also decreased.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in this regency/city ranks 344th nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (TPT) in 2023 was 4.3%.

The increase in the open unemployment rate (TPT) is related to the data on the number of the workforce in this region. The number of the workforce in Bengkulu Tengah Regency has shown an increasing trend over the past 13 years. In 2021, the number of workers was recorded at 57,426, increasing to 58,411 in 2023.

Regarding the number of employed residents, the number of workers in Bengkulu Tengah Regency has shown an increasing trend over the past 11 years. In 2021, the number of workers was 55,089, increasing to 56,544 in 2023.

The increase in the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bengkulu Tengah Regency is not directly related to the economic growth in this region, which also continued to increase in 2023. The economy in this region in 2023 was recorded at 3.82 percent. Previously, in 2022, economic growth in this regency/city was recorded at 3.03 percent.
