February 2023, Average Construction Worker Wages in Riau Rp. 3.63 Million

The average net monthly wage of formal construction workers in Riau in February 2023 increased by Rp. 690,168 to Rp. 3.63 million compared to December 2022. Over the past seven years, the average wage of construction workers has steadily increased at a higher rate than in previous years.

The average net monthly wage of formal construction workers in the last five years experienced its highest growth in 2018 at 25.42% and its lowest in 2020, declining by 7.32%.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the salary/wage received by workers in this sector in Riau Province amounted to Rp. 3.63 million. Compared to other provinces, the average salary/wage in the construction sector in this province ranks fifth nationally.

Compared to 16 other sectors, the wages of workers in this sector rank second. Meanwhile, the sector with the highest salary/wage in this province is mining and quarrying, with a net monthly income reaching Rp. 4.71 million.

The second highest paying sector is construction with a monthly salary/wage of Rp. 3.63 million. Third is the government administration, defense, and mandatory social security sector with a payment of Rp. 3.61 million.

The lowest paying sector in this province is accommodation and food service with a monthly payment of Rp. 1.83 million.
