2023 East Java Provincial Minimum Wage (UMK) Complete List: Surabaya Highest

The East Java Provincial Government has finally set the 2023 Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK). Surabaya remains the area with the highest UMK in East Java, at Rp4,525,479.19.

This UMK determination is stipulated in the East Java Governor's Decree Number 188/889/KPTS/013/2022 concerning the Minimum Wage for Regencies/Cities in East Java in 2023.

The decree states that the 2023 East Java Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is Rp2,040,244.30. This means the 2023 UMP increased by 7.8 percent or Rp148,677 compared to the 2022 UMP of Rp1,891,567.

Gresik Regency has the second-highest UMK in East Java, reaching Rp4,522,030.51, followed by Sidoarjo at Rp4,518,581.85.

Provincial governments in Indonesia announced the Provincial Minimum Wage for 2023 on Monday, November 28th. Six provinces on Java Island have also announced their UMP figures, referencing the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 18 of 2022.

Based on official announcements, UMP values vary across provinces. Increases range from 5 percent to 9 percent, remaining within the Permenaker's regulated range of a maximum 10 percent increase.
