JobStreet: Job Applications in These 10 Industries Were the Highest in 2021

JobStreet released a report on Indonesia's employment prospects in its *Job Outlook Report 2022*. According to the report, a total of 110.8 million job applications were submitted in Indonesia in 2021.

Of this number, the highest demand for jobs came from the manufacturing industry, with 17.5 million applications. This figure represents a 15.8% increase compared to the previous year.

The retail and trade industry ranked second, with 12.8 million applications. The consumer products industry was third, with 8.8 million applications.

Transportation followed in fourth place, with 8.7 million applications. Although fourth, this industry saw the highest increase in job applications, at 40.3% compared to the previous year.

Other industries with the highest job application numbers in Indonesia include banking and finance with 7.2 million applications, followed by food and beverage with 4.7 million, and construction with 4.4 million.

For information, the application data source comes from full-time job advertisements obtained from JobStreet's internal database. The analysis period for this report is 2021, with comparisons drawn from 2020 data.
