The number of workers in East Seram Regency has shown an upward trend over the last 14 years, continuing even after the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, according to BPS records, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in East Seram Regency in December 2023 decreased by 0.07% to 3.31% compared to December 2022. Compared to December 2021, the open unemployment rate (TPT) also decreased from 3.88%.
This decrease in the open unemployment rate (TPT) is reflected in the number of working people and the labor force figures published by BPS this year. The labor force in East Seram Regency has increased over the past three years. Historically, in 2021, there were 54,609 workers; this number decreased to 52,177 in 2022 and increased to 59,272 in 2023.
