Indonesia's National Internship Program Involves Nearly 98 Thousand Participants

The Indonesian government launched the National Internship Program for university graduates in October 2025.

This program provides internship opportunities for diploma (D1-D4) and bachelor's (S1) degree holders who are fresh graduates or have graduated within the last year.

Participants who pass the selection process can undertake internships at state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or private companies for a maximum duration of six months, receiving a stipend and employment social security.

This year's National Internship Program is open to 100,000 participants.

However, according to a report from the Ministry of Finance, the number of participants who passed recruitment as of December 16, 2025, was only close to 98,000 people, specifically 97,972 people.

Below are the details of the number of participants accepted into the National Internship Program per batch, from its launch until December 16, 2025:

• Batch I: 13,552 people
• Batch II: 59,512 people
• Batch III: 24,908 people

The government allocated a budget of Rp455.6 billion for this program. However, as of December 16, 2025, the budget realization was still low.

"The realization as of December 16 is still relatively low, Rp64.5 billion, because it's awaiting administrative processes," said Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara at the Our State Budget press conference on Thursday (18/12/2025).
