According to the report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in August 2025, there were 7.69 million commuter workers, equivalent to 5.25% of the total workforce in Indonesia.

"To support mobility to and from work, most commuter workers use private/official vehicles (90.86%)," BPS wrote in its report.

Additionally, there are also commuter workers who commute using public transportation (7.16%), online transportation (0.89%), and other modes (1.09%).

Meanwhile, during August 2020-August 2024, the proportion of Indonesian commuter workers tended to fluctuate, as shown in the graph.
