The House of Representatives (DPR) adjusted several of its members' allowances on Friday (September 5, 2025). The allowances eliminated include telephone and electricity subscription fees, intensive communication allowances, and transportation allowances.
This decision responds to the "17+8" public demands voiced in protests across various regions and on social media.
The following details the salaries and allowances of DPR members based on the Decision of the DPR Leadership Consultative Meeting with the DPR Faction Leaders, dated September 4, 2025:
Basic Salary and Position Allowances:
- Basic Salary: Rp4,200,000
- Spouse Allowance: Rp420,000
- Child Allowance: Rp168,000
- Position Allowance: Rp9,700,000
- Rice Allowance: Rp289,680
- Session/Package Allowance: Rp2,000,000
Constitutional Allowances:
- Intensive Communication Allowance with the Public: Rp20,033,000
- Honorarium Allowance: Rp7,187,000
- Allowance for Oversight and Budgetary Functions as Constitutional Implementers of the Council: Rp4,830,000
- Honorarium for Legislative Functions: Rp8,461,000
- Honorarium for Oversight Functions: Rp8,461,000
- Honorarium for Budgetary Functions: Rp8,461,000
From this basic salary and allowances, DPR members receive a gross total of Rp74.21 million, but are subject to a 15% PPh (Personal Income Tax) of Rp8,614,950.
Therefore, the total net salary or take home pay of DPR members is Rp65,595,730 per month. Previously, the salary and allowances received reached Rp104,142,173 per month.
However, this adjustment shows differences and additions in the salary details as follows:
- Honorarium Allowance: before the demands Rp5,580,000, after Rp7,187,000
- Communication Allowance/Cost: before the demands Rp15,554,000, after Rp20,033,000
- Allowance for Enhanced Functions: before the demands Rp3,750,000, after Rp4,830,000
- New elements such as honorariums for legislative, oversight, and budgetary functions.
In addition, the DPR also affirmed that DPR members who have been deactivated by their political parties will no longer receive these salaries and allowances.
"The DPR RI leadership is following up on the deactivation of several DPR RI members carried out by political parties through their respective party courts," wrote the DPR leadership in its decision letter.
