Employment-to-Population Ratio in 38 Indonesian Provinces, Early 2025

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's employment-to-population ratio (EPR) was 67.24% in February 2025.

This means that out of every 100 working-age people, approximately 67 are employed.

This figure is up 0.8 percentage points compared to the February 2024 EPR, which was 66.44%.

"This gradual increase indicates an improvement in the absorption of the working population over the past year," wrote BPS in its report, Indonesia's Labor Market Indicators February 2025.

At the beginning of this year, Papua Pegunungan had the highest national EPR.

Meanwhile, the provinces with the lowest EPR were North Sulawesi, followed by Jakarta and Banten.

Below is the employment-to-population ratio (EPR) in 38 Indonesian provinces as of February 2025, ordered from highest to lowest:

1. Papua Pegunungan: 86.79%

2. Bali: 76.18%

3. Central Papua: 76.16%

4. West Nusa Tenggara (NTB): 74.04%

5. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT): 73.36%

6. East Java: 71.57%

7. Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY): 71.38%

8. Central Java: 70%

9. West Sulawesi: 69.54%

10. Bengkulu: 69.19%

11. West Papua: 68.44%

12. Central Sulawesi: 68.39%

13. Lampung: 68.27%

14. South Sumatra: 67.81%

15. South Kalimantan: 67.64%

16. Southeast Sulawesi: 67.49%

17. Central Kalimantan: 67.47%

18. West Sumatra: 66.91%
