According to data from the Ministry of Manpower compiled by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in 2024, 31 provinces experienced a job vacancy shortage.
This is evident from the number of vacancies in these provinces being lower than the number of job seekers.
In West Java, for example, around 148,000 job vacancies were registered in 2024.
However, the number of registered job seekers in West Java reached 296,000, resulting in a shortage of approximately 148,000 vacancies.
Similar conditions occurred in Central Java, East Java, Banten, West Nusa Tenggara, and other provinces, with details as shown in the graph.
In 2024, only 7 provinces had more vacancies than job seekers.
This "surplus" of vacancies was recorded in DKI Jakarta, Yogyakarta Special Region, Central Sulawesi, Riau Islands, West Kalimantan, Central Papua, and Highland Papua.
