AI Considered Most Capable of Transforming Businesses in 2025-2030

A World Economic Forum (WEF) report shows that 60% of surveyed business leaders hope to expand digital access to transform or develop their businesses.

The WEF states that this expanding digital access is a driver for new technologies to reshape the labor market.

In the report's *The Future of Jobs Survey*, business leaders were asked to assess nine key technologies considered capable of transforming their businesses.

The technology considered most impactful in business transformation among business leaders was artificial intelligence (AI) and information processing technology, selected by 86% of respondents.

Next were robots and autonomous systems, chosen by 58%. Then came energy generation, storage, and distribution at 41%.

Following that were new materials and composites, selected by 30% of respondents. Semiconductors and computing technology were also on this list, chosen by 20% of business leaders.

This was followed by sensing, laser, and optical technologies at 18%. Then, in succession, quantum and encryption technologies at 12%; biotechnology and gene technology at 11%, and satellite and space technology at 9%.

The survey sample comprised 22 industry clusters and 55 countries. Overall, the report's data contains 1,043 responses from global companies that collectively represent over 14.1 million employees worldwide.

The survey was grouped into 38 questions and was available in 12 languages: Arabic, Indonesian, Mandarin, French, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Data collection was conducted through Qualtrics, with data gathering taking place over a four-month period from May to September 2024.
