Provincial governments (Pemprov) on the island of Java have set the 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in their respective regions with a 6.5% increase compared to last year, in accordance with central government directives.
The highest UMP on Java Island is in DKI Jakarta, while Central Java has the lowest. Here's the breakdown:
1. DKI Jakarta
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government set the 2025 UMP in its region at Rp5,396,761. This is an increase of Rp329,380 or 6.5% from the 2024 UMP of Rp5,067,381.
This UMP determination uses the formula from the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 16 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2025.
"This UMP amount applies to workers/laborers with less than one year of service," said the Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, as reported by *Antara*, Wednesday (11/12/2024).
2. Banten
The Banten Provincial Government set the 2025 UMP at Rp2,905,120, up Rp177,308 or 6.5% from this year.
This increase is stipulated in Banten Governor's Decree Number 454 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the Banten UMP 2025, ratified by the Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar, on Wednesday (11/12/2024).
3. East Java
The East Java Provincial Government set the UMP in its region at Rp2,305,985 in 2025. This figure is an increase of Rp140,741 or 6.5% from the 2024 UMP of Rp2,165,244.30.
This is stipulated in the East Java Governor's Decree Number: 100.3.3.1/737/KPTS/013/2024 dated December 11, 2024, concerning the East Java Provincial Minimum Wage for 2025.
"The increase in the 2025 UMP is our effort to maintain business sustainability and to improve the welfare of the community," said the Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono, as reported on the East Java Provincial Government's Kominfo website, Wednesday (11/12/2024).
4. Yogyakarta Special Region
The Yogyakarta Special Region Government announced the 2025 UMP in its region at Rp2,264,080.
"There is an increase of 6.5% or approximately Rp138,183, compared to the 2024 UMP, which was previously Rp2,125,897," said Secretary General Beny Suharsono, as broadcast on the Yogyakarta Special Region Provincial Government website, Wednesday (11/12/2024).
This decision is stipulated in two Yogyakarta Governor's Decrees, namely Yogyakarta Governor's Decree Number 477/KEP/2024 concerning the Determination of the UMP for 2025.
5. West Java
The West Java Provincial Government set the 2025 UMP at Rp2,191,232, up Rp133,737 or 6.5% from the 2024 UMP of Rp2,057,495.
"So everyone agrees, there is no further discussion, we fulfill all the provisions, one of which explicitly states a 6.5 percent (UMP) increase," said the Head of the West Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Agency, Teppy Wawan Dharmawan, as reported on the West Java Provincial Government website, Thursday (12/12/2024).
6. Central Java
The Central Java Provincial Government ratified the 2025 UMP in its region at Rp2,169,349, an increase of Rp132,402 or 6.5% from the 2024 UMP of Rp2,036,947.
The determination refers to the Central Java Governor's Decree Number 561/38 of 2024, concerning the Central Java UMP for 2025.
"The determination of this UMP is to protect workers with less than one year of service, so that they are not paid below the stipulated wage," said the Acting Governor of Central Java, Nana Sudjana, as reported on the Central Java Provincial Government website, Wednesday (11/12/2024).
