The Jakarta Provincial Government has set the 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) at Rp5,396,761.
This figure represents an increase of Rp329,380, or 6.5%, compared to the 2024 UMP of Rp5,067,381.
This UMP determination uses the formula stipulated in Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2025 as its legal basis.
Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government held a meeting with relevant parties and the Regional Wage Council on December 9-10, 2024.
"Yesterday, I signed the Governor's decision. This UMP amount applies to workers with less than one year of service," said the Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (12/11/2024).
The Head of the Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Nakertransgi), Hari Nugroho, explained that the discussions regarding sectoral wages and the UMP aim to ensure the continued welfare of workers in various sectors.
He hopes that this UMP increase will boost workers' purchasing power and the competitiveness of businesses in Jakarta.
"With this step, the government is committed to improving the welfare of workers while boosting the regional economy," said Hari on Monday (12/09/2024).
