February 2023, Average Wage for Finance and Insurance Workers in East Java Rp. 3.39 Million

The average net monthly wage of formal financial and insurance sector workers in East Java in February 2023 decreased by Rp. 0.7 million to Rp. 3.39 million compared to December 2022. Compared to December 2021, the average wage for financial and insurance workers also decreased from Rp. 3.67 million.

The average net monthly wage of formal financial and insurance sector workers over the past five years experienced its highest growth in 2018 at 38.14% and its lowest in 2023, with a decrease of 17.11%.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the wages received by workers in this sector in East Java province amounted to Rp. 3.39 million. Compared to other provinces, the average wage in the financial and insurance sector in this province ranks 26th nationally.

Compared to 17 other sectors, wages in this sector rank fifth. Meanwhile, the sector with the highest wages in this province is electricity and gas provision, with a net monthly income of Rp. 6.08 million.

The second highest-paying sector is information and communication, with a monthly wage of Rp. 3.73 million. Third is the government administration, defense, and mandatory social security sector, with a wage of Rp. 3.71 million.

The lowest-paying sector in this province is other services, with a monthly wage of Rp. 1.42 million.
