The 2021 provincial minimum wage (UMP) for Jakarta was recorded at Rp 4,416,186. This figure represents a 3.27% increase compared to the previous year's Rp 4,276,349.
Compared to a decade earlier, the capital city's UMP has increased by 242.38%. In 2011, Jakarta's UMP was recorded at Rp 1,290,000.
The government has set the average national UMP increase for 2022 at 1.09% for workers with less than one year of service. Jakarta's UMP is projected to be Rp 4,453,724 next year.
According to the Ministry of Manpower, Jakarta's UMP is the highest in Indonesia. However, the official data for Jakarta's UMP in 2022 will be officially announced no later than November 21, 2021.
The Ministry of Manpower notes that 26 out of 34 provinces have already set their regency/city minimum wages (UMK). Of that number, 255 regencies/cities have set their UMK, while 42 other regions have not experienced any adjustment.
