2023 Data: Unemployment in Tanah Laut Regency is 3.58%

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released data showing that the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Tanah Laut Regency reached 3.58% in 2023. This figure is a decrease of 0.59% compared to December 2022, which was recorded at 4.17%. However, compared to December 2021, the figure increased by 0.06%.

Over the past five years, the highest open unemployment rate (TPT) was recorded in 2022 at 4.17%, while the lowest was recorded in 2018 at 3.28%.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in this regency/city ranks 297th nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (TPT) in 2023 was 4.3%.

The reduction in the open unemployment rate (TPT) this year can be seen from the condition of the number of the workforce and the number of employed people. The number of the workforce in Tanah Laut Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 16 years. Conversely, in the four years following the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of the workforce has also been on an upward trend. In 2021, the number of the workforce was recorded at 185,050 workers, then increased by 1,134 workers from the previous year to 185,270 workers in 2023.

Regarding the number of employed people, the number of workers in Tanah Laut Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 14 years. After the COVID-19 pandemic ended, for the past four years, the number of workers has also been on an upward trend.
