Average Farm Labor Wages Increased in September 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the average wages of farm laborers increased in September 2021. The average nominal wage of farm laborers was recorded at Rp 56,962 per day. This wage increased by 0.11% from the previous month, which was Rp 56,902 per day.

In terms of purchasing power, the average real wage of farm laborers was Rp 52,882 per day in September 2021. This amount increased by 0.25% from August 2021, which was Rp 52,750 per day. The real wage of farm laborers is a comparison between nominal wages and the rural household consumption index.

The same happened to the average wages of laborers in urban areas. The average nominal wage of construction workers (workers, not foremen) increased slightly by 0.01% to Rp 91,226 per day in September 2021. Meanwhile, the average nominal wage of building laborers increased by 0.05% to Rp 85,630 per day.

The average nominal wage of female salon workers increased by 0.06% to Rp 29,155 per person. Meanwhile, their average real wage increased by 0.1% to Rp 27,367 per person.

Finally, the average nominal wage of domestic helpers (ART) increased by 0.09% to Rp 425,736 per month. An increase also occurred in the average real wage by 0.13% to Rp 399,624 per month.
