Distribution of Free Private Schools in Jakarta for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI) government is expanding educational assistance for private special education schools, elementary schools, junior high schools, vocational schools, and high schools in the 2026/2027 academic year.

This assistance is outlined in the Jakarta Special Capital Region Governor's Decree No. 312 of 2026 on the Recipients and Amount of Education Funding for Private Education Units in the 2026 Budget Year, which was issued on March 26, 2026.

According to the decree, the number of students receiving assistance varies by school, with the percentage of education funding ranging from 75% to 100% or free of charge.

The Head of the Jakarta Special Capital Region Education Department, Nahdiana, said there are 103 free private schools accessible to the public in the 2026/2027 academic year.

Of these 103 private schools, 40 educational units are designated as continuation recipients, which are schools that were re-designated as education funding recipients for the period of January-December 2026.

Meanwhile, 63 educational units are designated as new recipients, which are private schools newly selected to receive funding for the period of July-December 2026.

Based on their distribution, the private schools receiving the most education funding are located in East Jakarta with a total of 23 schools, followed by South Jakarta with 22 schools.
