List of Universities with the Most SBMPTN Applicants in 2021

The Joint Selection for State Universities Entrance, abbreviated as SBMPTN, is a joint selection for the admission of new students to state universities using a computer-based written examination (UTBK). The SBMPTN pathway can be taken by students who are unable to participate in the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN).

The University Entrance Test Institution (LTMPT) recorded that 184,942 participants successfully passed the 2021 SBMPTN for a total capacity of 197,657 seats. Of this number, Brawijaya University accepted the most SBMPTN successful students, namely 6,033 participants.

Hasanuddin University was second, accepting 4,623 SBMPTN participants. Next, Lampung University and Indonesia University of Education each accepted 4,561 and 4,547 participants, respectively.

Then, Sriwijaya University accepted 4,171 participants, followed by Semarang State University with 3,873 participants, Makassar State University with 3,859 participants, Jember University with 3,834 participants, Padang State University with 3,796 participants, and Tadulako University with 3,765 participants.

LTMPT also recorded the number of participants who passed the selection based on the examination group. In the Science and Technology (Saintek) examination group, 85,149 participants (25.28%) passed the SBMPTN out of 336,843 applicants. Meanwhile, in the Social Sciences and Humanities (Soshum) examination group, 83,836 participants (25.15%) passed out of 378,556 applicants.
