Survey: Policy Planning & Execution, Most Needed Competencies to Lead Jakarta

Based on a survey by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the ability to plan and execute policies is the most needed competency for future DKI Jakarta leaders.

This was stated by 62.9% of respondents. In addition, leadership skills (18.8%), leadership experience (5.3%), and decisiveness (4.7%) were also identified as crucial factors for leading Jakarta.

The survey also shows that Ridwan Kamil is considered the most competent to lead Jakarta in 2024. Out of 11 variables tested, Ridwan Kamil had the highest average score of 7.11%, followed by Erick Thohir at 6.99% and Tri Rismaharini at 6.78%.

Ridwan Kamil performed strongly in five variables: leadership during a crisis (score 6.98), initiating change (score 7.01), creating innovative policies (score 7.12), public rhetoric and persuasion (score 7.55), and creating populist policies (score 7.24).

This survey was conducted from March 29 to April 12, 2022, using face-to-face and virtual interviews. A total of 170 respondents participated in the research. They were from a group of experts considered to have the knowledge and skills to predict and analyze social, political, and economic issues.
