Thinking of Studying Medicine at UGM in 2023? Here's the Breakdown of Tuition Fees!

The Medical Doctor program is one of the most popular programs at the prestigious Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

According to the official website of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the number of applicants for the UGM Medical Doctor program reached 3,802 in 2021. This made Medicine the most popular program at UGM.

Other related programs, Dentistry, reached 1,164 applicants in 2021. Veterinary Medicine had 998 applicants during the same period.

So, how much is the tuition fee for these three popular programs?

According to the UGM website, the university implements a single tuition fee (UKT) system for excellent education for the 2023-2024 academic year. New students will pay tuition according to their economic capabilities.

The system includes subsidized and unsubsidized excellent education UKT. For subsidized UKT, the subsidy varies: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.

To determine the appropriate tuition fee, new students are required to upload proof of parental income and supporting documentation. The university will then assess and determine the UKT amount fairly.

The unsubsidized excellent education UKT for Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine is Rp24.7 million.

The subsidized excellent education UKT is Rp18.52 million. The 50% subsidized UKT is Rp12.35 million.

The 75% subsidized UKT is Rp6.17 million. The 100% subsidized UKT is Rp0. This fee is payable at the beginning of registration or at the start of a new semester.

However, UGM notes that prospective students accepted through the UGM Computer-Based Test (UM-CBT) for the 2023/2024 academic year, who are assigned excellent education UKT or have good economic capabilities, will be charged an Excellent Education Solidarity Contribution (SSPU).

This contribution is Rp30 million for science, technology, and health fields. For social and humanities fields, it is Rp20 million.

Currently, the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) registration is still open and will close on April 14, 2023.

This academic year, UGM's Medical Doctor program offers 54 places for new students. Dentistry has a capacity of 45 places, and Veterinary Medicine has 60 places.
